I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Maryjoh was a wonderful person. She was very generous about sharing her talents at church. We had a love of literature in common and I enjoyed her friendship and talking to her very much.

My 2 children were fortunate to be taught by "Mrs. Hughes." She was full of wisdom, character, and knowledge she shared with her students. Moderating Scholar Bowl matches was dear to her. Mrs. Hughes standards were high and her respect for students as well preparing them for a successful path following high school. Also, John and I were privileged to work with her as we both taught at SGS. MaryJoh had wit to be enjoyed and knew how to support her colleagues on any level. Sending prayers to her family.

Mrs. Hughes was one of my favorite teachers and inspirations. I always enjoyed her classes and she ignited my love for classic literature. I feel beyond privileged to have been her student but later a colleague. She will be missed!
