James Donald Missey, age 87 of Kinmundy, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at his home. James was born on April 28, 1937 in Missouri, the son of Joseph and Belle Missey. He married Dorothy (Vlcek) Missey and together they shared many years united in marriage. Survivors include his six sons, Dale Missey and wife Sherry of Arkansas, Paul Missey and wife Debbie of Highland, Derrick Missey and wife Soni of Lebanon, Brian Missey of Shobonier, Kyle Missey and wife Jen of Breese, and Kip Missey and significant other Ashley of Kinmundy; a daughter, Cheryl Cruz and significant other John Estep of O’Fallon; grandchildren, Ashley, Katie, Brandi and husband Jeremy, Steph, Jessie and husband T.J., Tyler, Skyler, Patrick, T.J., Keith, Addie, Emma, Asher, Everett, Jeffery, Jerrod, Neela, Mitchel, and Melissa, and great grandchildren, Hailey, Colin, Bryson, Christopher and wife Lexy, Taylor and husband Josh, Luke, and Eli. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. James was a jack of all trades. He grew up playing softball and he really enjoyed playing cards and scratcher tickets. He loved being outdoors. Celebration of Life services for James Donald Missey will be held at a later date. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
