Obituary of Gail Holleman

Gail Holleman, age 78 of Wayne City, passed away while surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at White Oak Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. Gail was born on December 9, 1945 in Salem the daughter of Dale and Alice (Roux) Holleman. She is survived by a son, Scott Holleman and wife Dana of East Alton; daughter, Justine Loker and husband Karlyn of Keenes; grandsons, Kris Loker and wife Deanna, T.J. Loker and wife Ashley, and Cory Holleman and wife Emmalee; step-grandson, D.G. Toombs; granddaughters, Chelsea Greene and husband Ryan and Amanda Clark and husband Canyon; ten great-grandchildren, Graceland Loker, Javen Loker, Kinley Loker, Broxton Greene, Kaelynn Loker, Kylar Loker, Elsie Holleman, Oaklee Holleman, Raegan Clark, and Huxley Holleman; three step-great-grandchildren, Alexis Greene, Kayleigh Toombs, and Jackson Toombs; and three sisters, Maryanne Allen, Katie Meyers and husband James, and Linda Butcher and husband Archie. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Holleman; her mother, Alice Fatheree; and a brother-in-law, Harold Allen. Gail was a member of Orchardville Church where she was one of the founding members in 1982. She spent countless hours reading and making marks and notes in her Bible. She worked as a cashier at various businesses in the area. Gail loved cooking and sharing her recipes. She spent countless hours clipping newspaper articles and making scrapbooks . Her generous spirit touched many. She will be remembered for her strong sense of independence throughout her life. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Orchardville Church in Xenia with Rick Hays officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
