Michael “Mike” Rhodes, age 61 of Odin, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. Mike was born on February 8, 1963 in Centreville, IL the son of James and Wanda (Harrison) Rhodes. He married Sheila (Reynolds) Rhodes on January 3, 1981 in Odin and together they enjoyed 43 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Rhodes of Odin; children, Kari Bookhout and husband London of Salem, and Jerod Rhodes and special friend Serena of Odin; grandchildren, Drake Rhodes, Brooklyn, Tessa, Brynna, and Evan Bookhout, and Rylan Rhodes; a brother, Donald Rhodes of De Soto, MO; and his mother-in-law, Janice Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dusty Rhodes; siblings, Sue Nolan, Jimmie “Buck” Rhodes, Patty Clark and Connie Osborne; and his father-in-law, Ivan Reynolds. Mike was a member of the Odin Baptist Church. He worked for Radiac in Salem. He enjoyed riding around town on his scooter visiting with his friends, N.H.R.A., and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. A Celebration of Life for Michael “Mike” Rhodes will be held at Crouse Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm with Claude Howell officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be held in Peaceful Valley Cemetery at a later date.
