Mary A. Jones, age 83 of Alma, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Mary was born on September 13, 1940 in Alma, the daughter of Raymon and Bertha (Smith) Beard. She married Darrell Richard Jones on October 18, 1958 at the Alma Christian Church and he survives in Alma. In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her children, Brian Jones and wife Donna of Auburn and Melissa Kinnard and husband Darren of Carterville; grandchildren, Jared Jones and wife Jen, Josh Jones and wife Tori, Jamie Lambdin and husband Bryan, Jeremy Jones and wife Parker, Courtney Kinnard, and Ryan Kinnard; six great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen Malekovic; and sister-in-law, Donna Beard. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Beard; and brother-in-law, Albert Malekovic. Mary was a member of Alma Christian Church for over 70 years, where she served as Treasurer for 20 years and Sunday School Teacher for nearly 30 years. She was co-owner and bookkeeper of Jones Auto Sales. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and served as a Foster Township Election Judge for many years. Funeral Services for Mary A. Jones will be held at Noon on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Alma Christian Church with Randy Van Ausdall officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Sandy Branch Cemetery in Kinmundy. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alma Christian Church and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
