Kathy McKinney, age 73 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Odin Healthcare Center in Odin, Illinois. Kathy was born on December 1, 1950 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil Merle and Emma (Holt) McKinney. She is survived by her daughter, Wheat Jackson and special friend John Collier; and her granddaughter, Ren Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Eva Merlene. Kathy was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Salem. She worked as an accountant and secretary for many years until retirement. She enjoyed reading, British history, shopping, horseback riding, showing horses, and spending time with her family. A graveside service for Kathy McKinney will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Dr. Andy DeWitt officiating.
