Obituary of Wayne Douglas "Doug" Barrier
Wayne Douglas “Doug” Barrier, age 78 of Salem, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Doug was born on September 3, 1945 in Salem, the son of Leroy and Myrtle (Barrier) Boyles. He married Joyce (Shuler) Williams on March 31, 2021 at the Apostolic Church in Salem and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Joyce Williams-Barrier of Salem, he is survived by his children, Stephen Powell, Kimberly Link and husband Tommy, Richard Kemp and wife Maria, Jeremy Kemp and wife Angela, Amanda Jamison, Rodney Hodge, Dennis Hodge, and Cindy Benjamin; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and his two cats, Lucy and Alli.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two wives, Phyllis Barrier and Dora Barrier.
Doug was a member of the Apostolic Church in Salem. He worked in car sales and insurance sales for many years. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He loved sports and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Funeral Services for Wayne Douglas “Doug” Barrier will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Apostolic Church in Salem with Pastors Calvin Jean and Ben Wyant officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Iuka with Military Rites by the Salem American Legion. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Apostolic Church Building Fund or to Open Arms Fellowship and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
