Sharon Elaine Brooks, age 76 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Salem Township Hospital. Sharon was born on December 22, 1947 in Salem, the daughter of Jack and Bessie Twintella (White) Langston. She married Donald Ray Brooks on May 4, 1964 at the Free Methodist Church in Salem, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Barter and husband Chris of Salem; grandchildren, Tashia Cheves and husband Jay of Stillwater, OK, Danielle Farley of West Palm Beach, FL, Cyndi Donsbach and husband Ethan of Fort Riley, KS, Shanan Reed and fiancé Daniel Ramirez of Salem, Jake Brooks of California, Abby Brooks of Evansville, IN, Levi Brook of CA, Logan Brooks of Salem, and Cassandra Okuly of Wauseon, OH; great-grandchildren, Luke, Isaiah, Mallory, Gabe, and Tori of Stillwater, OK, Kayne, Knox, Caylen, Daemion, and Izayah of Salem, Beckham, Ayden, and Marshall of Fort Riley, KS, and Asya & Landon of West Palm Beach, FL; and one sister, Marilyn Barton and husband Harold of Salem. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Keri Brooks; one brother, Jerry McIntosh; and one grandson, Julian. Sharon worked for many years as a home sitter, and cleaning houses. She then worked alongside her husband and was the Assistant Coordinator for Marion County ESDA. She was a member of New Life Church in Salem. She enjoyed fishing, casinos and spending time with her family. Sharon loved serving her community, her family and anyone in need. Funeral Services for Sharon Elaine Brooks will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Claude Howell officiating, with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of the service. There will be an ESDA Honor Guard during the visitation. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home.
