Mary Booher, age 93 of Salem, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at her home. Mary was born on December 5, 1926 in Iuka, the daughter of Joseph and Bessie (Howe) Uchitjil. She married Harry Ogg and he preceded her in death, she later married Alois R. Booher and he also preceded her in death. She is survived by son, Ray Booher of Salem; daughters, Judy Gergeni and husband Roger of Indianapolis, IN, June Klawitter and husband Ron of Berger, MO, Connie Howard and husband Keith of West Frankfort, Joyce Deming and husband Chris of London, KY, Elaine Henson and husband Eldon of Wentzville, MO and Treva Cole and husband David of Marion; son-in-law, Stanley Smith of Salem; brothers, Robert Uchitjil and wife Naida of Odin, Leroy Uchitjil and wife Linda of Odin; sisters, Frances Uchitjil of Salem, Ann Ruckman of Madera, CA, Niece Quick of Odin and Carol Phillips and husband George of Salem; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren Mary was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Justine “Sue” Smith; grandson, Jason Smith and brothers, Ralph Uchitjil and Raymond Uchitjil. Mary attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Salem. She worked for Brown Shoe Company and was a co-owner of Booher’s Tin Shop. Funeral Services for Mary Booher will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Doug Meyer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church and can be received at the funeral home.
