Obituary of Charles "Chuck" Kent Foster III
Charles “Chuck” Kent Foster III, age 63 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Chuck was born on August 13, 1960 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Charles K. Foster II and Charlotte (Meyer) Foster. He married Lenora “Lenn” (Thomas) Foster on September 18, 2010 in Salem, Illinois and she survives in Salem.
Survivors include his wife, Lenn of Salem; children, Jamie Foppe of Salem, Jeremy Crist and wife Whitney of Centralia, Brooks Foster of Salem, Lindsay Burton and husband Devin of Florida, Andrew Foster and wife Carolyn of Odin, and Hanna Worstell and husband Andrew of Salem; grandchildren, Alysha, Trent, Nadea, Nylee, Maddison, Charlie, Audrey, Zyler, Zander, Charles, and one grandchild on the way; great grandchildren, Chandler, Oakley, and Analeia; siblings, Curt Foster, Carl Foster, Chad Foster, Charlene Kampwerth, Craig Foster, and Cheryl Foster; a special nephew, Ryan Foster along with numerous other nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Agim Mehmedi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Charlotte, and his grandparents Carl P. and Mildred Viola (Koehler) Meyer.
Chuck was the owner and operator of Foster Salvage in Salem. He loved to go on rides around the countryside with his wife Lenn in their Ranger. He loved to trade, listen to music, go to concerts, camping, boating, and shooting guns. He had a soft spot for children and animals and was known for his teasing and sense of humor, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
Funeral services for Charles Kent Foster III will be held on Sunday, March, 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Centralia. There will be a visitation on Sunday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
