Obituary of Dorothy "Dottie" Curtner
Dorothy “Dottie” Curtner, age 66 of Salem, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Dottie was born on September 8, 1957 in Centralia, the daughter of Robert and Neva (Miller) Lybarger. She married Danny J. Curtner on June 14, 1991 in Salem and he survives her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Clarissa Curtner of Salem; four grandchildren, Hailey, Braxton, Nylah, and Jamison; three brothers, Bobby of Salem, Robbie of Houston, TX and Rodney of MO; and her friend and caregiver, Vicki Carrol.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lybarger and step-mother, Peggy; mother, Neva Meador and step-father, Robert; and her sister, Debbie Meador.
Dottie was a long-time member of the Shattuc United Methodist Church. She took great pride in her work as a waitress. Her free time was occupied with caring and loving on her grandbabies, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, singing and playing tambourine, and playing BINGO.
A Celebration of Life for Dorothy “Dottie” Curtner will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Shawn Woodward officiating. A time to visit with the family will be held from 5:00 pm until the time of the service. Memorials can be made to the C.O.P.D. Foundation and can be received at the funeral home.
