Larry Michael Sands, age 65 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Helia Healthcare of Salem. Mike was born on March 30, 1958 in Walnut Hill, Illinois the son of Jimmie D. and Helen (Clopton) Sands. He married Nina (Donoho) Sands on February 14, 1993 in Salem, Illinois and she survives in Salem. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Lori Bray, Larry Bray, Rick Bray, Carla Henken, Cliff Bray, and Christopher Bray; siblings, Randy Sands and wife Barb, Brenda Evans and husband Ben, and Beth Brewer and husband Dale; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike was a member of the Rock Church in Centralia. He retired from North American Lighting after working there for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, collecting pennies, and working and spending time outdoors. Funeral services for Larry Michael Sands will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Steve Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Salem. There will be a visitation on Monday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
