Obituary of Orville R. "Bud" Wallace
Orville R. “Bud” Wallace, age 85 of Salem, formerly of Flora, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Salem Township Hospital surrounded by family.
Bud was born on October 6, 1937 in Nashville, IL, the son of Orville R. Wallace, Sr. and Verda (Fowler) Wallace. Bud married Linda K. Rauch on May 27, 1960 in Flora, IL, who proceeded him In death in 2003.
Survivors include daughter, Bev (David) Quinn of Salem; son Alan (Cathy) Wallace of Alma, son Kerry Wallace of Lake St. Louis, son Kevin Wallace of St. Charles, MO, granddaughter Sarah Wallace (Steve Totten) of Wentzville, MO; granddaughter Megan (Brent) Paalhar of Brookfield, MO; granddaughter Emily Wallace of Wright City, MO; granddaughter, Madison Quinn of Davenport, FL; grandson Logan (Allison) West of Salem; grandson Dylan Plahm of Alma; and great-granddaughters Vivianne Paalhar, Emery Paalhar, Harper West, Paisley Totten, Lilly Totten, great-grandson Waylon Totten; and two more great-grandchildren due this summer.
In addition to his wife, Linda, Bud was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Jean Daily and Barbara Zuber; and brother Bill Wallace.
Bud built and managed Salem Cable TV for many years, coached the Rotary Little League team for 8 years, was active in St. Theresa Men’s Club when his children were attending St. Theresa School, was a life-long member of the Salem Elks Club and loved to play golf and fish. Bud also loved to dance, and he and Linda made an eye-catching pair on the dance floor.
Funeral services for Orville R. “Bud” Wallace will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Logan West officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
