Richard Charles Francois, age 69 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his daughter’s home with family by his side. Richard was born on July 21, 1953 in Centralia, Illinois the son of Lester and Dorothy (Oglesby) Francois. Survivors include his daughter, Shelly Bodine and husband James of Kell; son, Charles Francois and wife Dorothy of Salem; brother, Robert Francois of Salem; grandchildren, Ricky Francois, Zachary Francois, Danielle Davis, Sarah Parrish, Mason Becker, and Dustin Becker; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty and Nancy; a brother, Gary; and a grandson, Sean Luke Francois. Richard worked in maintenance at Mills Crossing in Salem. He had a love for all Chicago sports including the Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks, but especially liked the Cubs. Richard loved to travel and go hiking. He loved to golf. One of his favorite things was taking his great grandchildren to the park. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. There will be a visitation from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery.
