Willard D. Albert, age 73 of Kell, passed away at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Centralia on Friday, January 7, 2022 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Willard was born on May 24, 1948 in Iuka, the son of James Paul and Carrie Alvoy (Molenhour) Albert. He married Betty (Morton) Albert on July 23, 1968 at the United Methodist Church in rural Centralia, and she survives in Kell. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Phillips and husband Howard of Iuka and Kathryn “Kathy” Albert of Farina; three grandchildren, Dustin Hine, Cole Phillips, and Haley Phillips; one step-granddaughter, Patricia Spurlock; one step-great-grandson, Hunter Phillips; one great-grandson on the way; and three brothers, Rex Albert, Paul Albert, and Roy Albert all of Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents. Willard retired from the United States Postal Service after 40 years as a clerk at the Centralia Post Office. He owned Albert’s Bottled LP Gas for over 20 years. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Christian Home Baptist Church. Willard enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Graveside services for Willard D. Albert will be held at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Romine Prairie Cemetery in Kell with Larry Albert officiating. Military Rites will be accorded at the cemetery by the Salem American Legion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
