Joan “Ann” Logue, age 90, of Salem, passed away at her home in Salem on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Ann was born on August 15, 1931 in Georgia the daughter of Sherrod and Louise (Ledbetter) Blackwell. She leaves behind six children, Larry Logue and wife Suzy Gamble, Caren Sullens, Paula Logue, Kelly Yazdani, David Logue, and Sherrod Logue; one sister, Jackie Simpson; one brother, David Blackwell; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jean Hill; two brothers, Sonny Blackwell and Rickie Blackwell; one son, Steven Logue; one daughter, Tammy Mayer; two great-grandsons, Samuel Mark II and Keith Tolliver; and three husbands, Edward Logue, Guy Mayer, and Pete Tron. Her son-in-law, Damon Sullens followed her in death on the same day. Ann raised her children, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and fostered many others. She taught her family to have faith in God and to love and pray for everyone. She loved to draw and sing to and with her children, especially hymns and silly songs. She wrote beautiful poems and passed that gift to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest gift was her sense of humor. Evan at 90, she would wake up at the crack of dawn with a whistle, a laugh, or a smile. “We love you Mom” She was of the Baptist faith and would attend at Salem Grace Church of the Nazarene. She received an award in Maryland from the evangelist, Gardiner Gentry for her bus ministry that provided transportation for many children over the years. Funeral services for Joan “Ann” Logue will be held at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Noon with Trent Ice officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Heritage Cemetery in Waldorf, Maryland. A Celebration of Life will be held in Maryland prior to the burial. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s Choice and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home.
