Obituary of Maxine (Minor) Donoho
Maxine (Minor) Donoho, age 102 of Iuka, formerly of Salem, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Carlyle Healthcare Center.
Maxine was born on October 27, 1918 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Roston and Lilly (King) Minor. She married Arthur Allen Donoho on December 19, 1934 in Mt. Vernon and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Irene Black of Salem, Linda Bailey and husband Elmer of Salem, Vernice Donoho and wife Mary of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Colleen Sellers and husband James of Salem, Randy Donoho and wife Anita of Kinmundy, and Sue Kagy and husband Jack of Iuka; daughters-in-law, Freda Donoho of Salem, and Carolyn Donoho of Salem; 26 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Darlene May Donoho; sons, Kenneth Melvin Donoho, Louie Dean Donoho, and Gerald Ray Donoho; sons-in-law, Lyle Eugene Beaty, Paul Wesley Black, and Thomas Leon Scharnhorst; grandchildren, Anthony Ray Bailey, Larry Dean Donoho, Joy Ann Bailey, Thomas Allen Scharnhorst, Matthew Gene Donoho, and David Ray Donoho; and great-granddaughter, Carrie Marie Bailey.
Maxine was a charter member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Salem. She was a homemaker, she loved sewing, making quilts, working in her garden, and the farm. She was a long time Sunday School teacher and loved singing in the church choir. She loved Jesus, and her family.
Funeral services for Maxine Donoho will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Grace Church of the Nazarene with Kevin Donoho, Trent Ice, and Mark Copley officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Memorials can be made to Grace Church of the Nazarene and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
