John Charles Haag, age 53 of Salem, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital. John was born on February 26, 1968 in Morris, the son of Oliver Charles and Barbara (Swaim) Haag. He married Laura Swaim on December 17, 1988 in Salem and she survives in Salem. In addition to his wife Laura Haag of Salem, he is survived by his children, John Haag Jr. and wife Vicky of Orleans, IN, Jeanna Haag of Salem, and Jesse Haag of Salem; two grandchildren, Allyson and Jonathan; and siblings, Mary Belle Wood and husband Earl of Odin and Janet Marie Haag of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Barbara. John attended Grace Church of the Nazarene. He was employed at Bradford Supply in Salem as an oil pump repairman. He loved construction and remodeling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Graveside services for John Haag will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin, with Trent Ice officiating. Memorials can be made to the family and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.
