Catherine “Cathy” E. Adams, age 63 of Odin, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Cathy was born on January 11, 1958 in Odin, the daughter of Leroy and Zelma (Treadway) Phelps. She married DeeWitt Adams on July 4, 1980 at the home of Jim Slater in Alma, and he survives in Odin. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Daniel Adams and wife Beth of Odin; one daughter, Amanda Simmons and husband L.C. of O’Fallon; six sisters, Virginia, Shirley, Carolyn, Mary, Carla, and Nancy; three brothers, David, Roger, and John; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Barbara and Patty. Cathy was a member of the Apostolic Church of Salem. She was a seamstress for The Wise Company in Carlyle. Funeral services for Catherine “Cathy” Adams will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin.
