Daniel Reed Lane, beloved son and father of three, age 35 of Salem, passed away on Friday July 16, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. Daniel was born on April 15, 1986 in Louisville, KY, the son of Thomas Lane and Mary (McCarthy) Lane. Survivors include his mother, Mary Lane and special friend Marlin of Salem; father, Thomas Lane and wife Stacy of Mt. Vernon; children, Landon Lane of Walnut Hill, Penny Lane of Centralia, and Zoe Lane of Centralia; brothers, Thomas “Tuffy” Crooks and wife Courtney of Salem, Tristan Lane of AZ, and Tommy Lane of AZ; sister, Shana Wessell and special friend Dale of Centralia; and a niece, Jera May Wessell of Centralia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Germi Lane; sister, Amy Lane; grandmothers, Helen Teets and Virginia Lane; and an aunt, Leatha Lane. Daniel had a passion for music. He enjoyed skateboarding and nature. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his children. Celebration on Life services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Eddie Alford officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
