Debbie Wood posted a condolence

She was my husband, Jerry Wood's aunt, her husband Wilburn was his uncle, brother to his mom, Reba Russel. Verlia and I shared a birthday, April 1, but different years, but we really enjoyed spending time together. She was always kind and welcoming, supported us when Reba died and used to take us gambling on the river boats and to Bingo games, which she often won. When Wilburn died, same day my husband had a heart attach and had to have bipass surgery and so we were not able to be there for her then. But when my husband recovered, he called her and they had a good conversation. Jerry died 6 years ago and is now buried in Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Something made me look into the cemetery where Reba was buried and I saw the obituary. She had a long life and was a sweet, wonderful person. I am sure she is in the Lord's care now.

I am so sorry to hear about this loss. Verlia was a special person that I was lucky enough to have met and enjoyed many stories she had from her childhood to her current life. God bless her family especially her grandson that did so much for her. She loved you all dearly. Tamara
