Obituary of Alan Rodney Bell
Alan Rodney “Vern” Bell, age 56 of Salem, passed away on Saturday December 7, 2019 at his home in Salem.
Alan was born on March 14, 1963 in Salem, IL to Rodney Bell and Carolyn (White) Harriman. On June 10, 2019 he married Misty (Luetke) Bell.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Harriman of Salem; wife, Misty Bell of Salem; sons, Alan Joseph Bell of Salem, Howard Wayne Bell of Kansas City, Kansas; daughters, Angela Marie Bell of Centralia and Jessie Jo Bell of St. Louis; siblings, Janet Phillips and husband James of Salem, Richard Lee Bell of Marianna, PA, Dennis Scott Sloat of Salem, and Kevin Eugene Sloat and wife Deanna of Salem; grandchildren, Hayden Alan Bell, Joselyn Jade Closson, Ava Tina Closson, Jaeramiiah James Chavis, and Joseph Alan Bell; special aunt and uncle, Christine and Bruce Clark. Alan was also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Bell.
Alan worked at Salem Building Materials for 10 years, House of Plunder in Iuka for several years, and was a carpenter and laborer.
There will be a memorial service held on Friday December 13, 2019 at 7:00pm at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home with Calvin Jean officiating. There will be a time to greet the family from 6:00pm until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and left at the funeral home.
