William E. "Bill" Middleton, age 80 of Salem passed away on Saturday June 8, 2019 at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bill was born on March 23, 1939 in Salem, Illinois to Eugene and Edith (McDaneld) Middleton. He married Renate (Gornik) Middleton on May 3, 1960 in Frankfort, Germany and she survives in Salem. Survivors include his wife, daughters, Sandy Pollard and husband Rod of Salem and Chris Lansford and husband Everett of Centralia; son, Mark Middleton and wife Sharon of Salem; brother, Johnny Middleton and wife Faye of Poplar Bluff, MO; sister, Nancy Edwards of McLeansboro; 4 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tony Middleton, a sister, Loreign Goff, a brother, Dan Middleton, and two great grandsons, Wade and Wyatt Holman. Bill was a retired Union Cement Mason and a member of the Romine Church of the Bretheran. He loved hunting and fishing. There will be a visitation held on Monday June 10, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family and can be left at the funeral home.
