Billy Lewis, age 63 of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Salem, passed away on May 5, 2020 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Billy was born on March 17, 1957 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Garnett Cornell “G.C.” and Annetta Faye (Page) Lewis. He married Crystal West in 2004 and she survives in Salem. In addition to his wife Crystal, he is survived by his father G.C. Lewis of Galveston, Texas; two children, Benjamin Lewis and wife Jessica of Rockford and Adrianne Lang of Salem; step-children, Tyler Lewis, Brandy Lewis and Trevor Lewis all of Salem; siblings, Gloria, Wanda, Rita, Theresa, Bobbie and Jessie; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annetta Lewis and brothers, Charles and Johnny. Billy worked at a nurse, paramedic, and fire fighter. He was a member of Family Life Church in Mt. Vernon.
