Betty Morton, age 81 of Kell, passed away on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at the Odin Care Center. Betty was born on February 20, 1938 in Jefferson County to Reed and Elma (Parkinson) Morton. Survivors include a brother, Eugene Morton of Kell and a sister Mary Morton of Kell. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Leonard Leroy Morton. Betty graduated from Raccoon Grade School and Salem Community High School. She then attended Kaskaskia College and then graduated from McKendree College with her teaching degree. She taught for 30 years in the Plainfield, Illinois Public Schools. She was a member of the Romine Prairie Presbyterian Church. Funeral services for Betty Morton will be held on Saturday July 20, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Rogers- Atkins Funeral Home with Ray Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at the Romine Prairie Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Saturday at the funeral home from 12:30 pm until the time of the service. Memorial donations can be made to the Romine Prairie Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.
