Obituary of Eric Griffin

James “Eric” Griffin, Age 42, “The stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' and dealin' son of a gun” took his last Superfly Jimmy Snuka jump off the top rope to enter God’s ring of beautiful people. He suddenly passed away on April 12, 2020 at his home in Centralia, after a lifelong “Royal Rumble” with heart complications. He was born in Centralia on June 10, 1977. Shortly after he was born, he was taken to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO and was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Vessels (TGV). At two months he had a mustard procedure performed to correct the blood flow in his heart and an additional heart procedure at four months. Eric was a superfan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Carolina Panthers Football and MMA, but was uncondtionally the biggest fan of WWE wrestling. He knew every wrestler, each of their finishing moves and watched every single event. He also enjoyed his weekly card game with his buddies and was an accomplished dart player, back in the day! He resided at the family farm in rural Alma until the age of six and then the family moved to Centralia. He was a 1995 graduate of Centralia High School He was the proud father of five children, Chandler of St. Louis; Jenna, Ryker, Gracelynne and Archer all of Centralia. Adored son of Deb (nee Mansker) Robbins and husband Alan of Belle Rive; and James R. Griffin and wife Darla of Centralia. Cherished brother of Darrin Griffin and wife Rose of Wheaton, IL, Zach and wife Jessica of Alton, lL and Savannah of Centralia. Fond uncle of Lucy, Cecilia, and Genevieve Pearl Griffin of Wheaton, IL and Collin, Caleb and Charlotte Griffin of Alton, IL. Maternal grandson of Barbara and Robert Mansker of Centralia and paternal grandson of Raymond and his wife Sharon of Walnut Hill. Adored nephew of Greg Mansker of St. Elmo, Chris Mansker of Centralia, and Chad Mansker and wife Madeline of Carbondale, Lila Williams and husband Gary of Alma, Susan Weibley and husband Tony of Centralia. He is also survived by numerous cousins and countless friends, especially Jayda Miller of Centralia. His smile, corny jokes and crazy stories will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Pearl Jones Griffin, Uncles - Tony and Rob Mansker and cousins- Michael, Devon and Vincent Mansker. With todays current COVID-19 pandemic we are unable to have a public service for Eric but a public memorial service will be held at a “ Local Watering Hole” in the future when the current crowd restrictions are lifted. A private graveside service will take place at Sandy Branch Cemetery in rural Alma on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Griffin family for Eric’s children. A formal fund will be established soon. Checks may be made payable to Debroah Robbins. Please contact the Crouse Funeral Home in Salem, whom the Griffin family has entrusted to handle the funeral arrangements. WOOOOOOOO!
