Michael Steven Hunter, age 61 of Salem, passed away on Friday July 17, 2020 at his home in Salem. Michael was born on August 7, 1958 in Salem, Illinois the son of Wayne W. and Geraldine L. “Gerry” (Raef) Hunter. Survivors include his brothers, Bill Hunter of Salem, Gerald Hunter and wife Glenda of Salem, and Jeff Hunter and wife Tonya of Sarasota, FL; sister in- law, Marilea Hunter of Centralia; a good friend, Mark Storment; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James “Jim” Hunter. Michael graduated from Salem Community High School and attended Kaskaskia College. He worked on the family farm. Private graveside services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
