Obituary of Jack Hagan Reed
Jack Hagan Reed, age 85 of Iuka, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
He was born on November 15, 1934 in Gate City, Virginia the son of Conley and Mary (Austin) Reed. On July 3, 1960 he married Sherley (Souder) Reed in Iuka and she preceded him in death.
Jack is survived by his son, Troy Reed and wife Deb of Iuka; grandchildren, Nicholas Reed of Plainfield, IN and Christine Reed of St. Charles, MO; daughter-in-law, Donna Reed of Salem; special friends, Nellie Linder and Patty Reed and several nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Karl Reed, brother, James Reed and a special nephew, Justin Edgeworth.
Jack proudly served in the United States Army and served his country overseas in Germany. He retired from Sealed Air in 2000 after 25 years of employment. He was previously employed at Sargent Paint Company in Indianapolis before moving to Iuka in 1975. Jack loved hunting, fishing, and watching over his cattle.
Private graveside services for Jack Hagan Reed will be held at Old Bethel Cemetery in Iuka with Doug Meyer officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by the Salem American Legion. Memorial gifts can be made to the Old Bethel Cemetery and can be received at the Crouse Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
