Obituary of Shirley Soper
Shirley Soper, age 82 of Odin, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 6, 2020.
Shirley was born on January 30, 1938, in Salem the daughter of Dale and Frances (McHaney) Morris. She married John Soper on August 17, 1963 at the Odin Christian Church and he survives in Odin. Wherever you saw one, you were sure to see the other.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mary Smith and husband John and Norma Rollinson; one brother, Dale Morris Jr and wife Jessie; three sisters-in-law, June Morris, Patricia Morris, and Sue Deadmond; one brother-in-law, Charles Soper; and 40 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert Morris, Richard Morris and Jerry Morris; three brothers-in-law, Charles Rollinson, Louis Deadmond, and Ed Soper and wife Lois; and one sister-in-law, Sonnie Soper.
Shirley was a devoted member of Little Grove Christian Church. She retired from Marion County Abstract after more than 40 years of employment. She enjoyed traveling the United States and the many bus trips taken over the years with her husband John. There were many friendships made over their travels.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Lance Boldt officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Memorials can be made to the Little Grove Christian Church and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
