She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Grace Stafford; husband Bill; a daughter, Marianne Larimer; brother, John Stafford; and sister, Mary Lou Ward.
Pat was a loving mother of four children and the adored grandmother of five grandchildren. She also had the pleasure of enjoying four great-grandchildren these past seven years. Pat worked alongside her husband, Bill, and son, Mark at Larimer Abstract for many years. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church where she was active in many church activities over the years. She helped coordinate the Meals on Wheels program years ago along with her mother, Grace Stafford. She was an avid bridge player, especially duplicate bridge, and enjoyed the friendship of bridge players in Salem and surrounding communities. Having married a sportswriter, she could not help becoming an enthusiastic sports fan. She especially enjoyed following her own children in their school endeavors whether through their involvements in sports, music activities or journalism aspirations. She enjoyed getting together with fellow SCHS classmates and planning reunions with graduates of the Class of 1949. She took pleasure in keeping in touch with friends and family through hand-written letters and did so until very recently. She could strike up a conversation with anyone she would meet whether at morning Mass, the grocery store, the beauty shop, restaurants, or the family business. In her own loving way, she was always reaching out to those in need.
