Obituary of Barbara Joan Alexander
Barbara Joan Alexander, age 80 of Kinmundy, passed away at her home on March 5, 2020.
Barbara was born on May 16, 1939 in Warsaw, Indiana the daughter of Vernon and Retha (Hanks) Allen. She married James “Jim” Dwight Alexander on August 27, 1960 in Kinmundy and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sisters, Kay Engel of Kinmundy and Lenora Jones and husband John of Alma; one brother, LeeRoy Allen and wife Joanne of Decatur; several nieces and nephews; two dogs, Tilly and Teddy and two cats, Whiskers and Blue.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Faye Anderson and one brother-in-law, Gaylan Engel.
Barbara was a member of the Kinmundy United Methodist Church. She started working as a clerk at the Kinmundy Post Office, then moved on to the Marion County Clerks Office, then as a receptionist at Dr. Bazzetta’s Dental Office. Later in life she was a door greeter at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Omega Stitchers Quilitng Club.
Graveside Services for Barbara Joan Alexander will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy with David Kueker officiating. Memorials can be made to the Salem Animal Shelter and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is in charge of arrangements.
