Obituary of Dwaine Heinzmann
Howard Dwaine Heinzmann, age 84 of Belle Rive, formerly of Farina and Iuka passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt Vernon.
Dwaine was born on November 17, 1936 in Odin the son of Lawrence and Elvre Leta “Viola” (Hicks) Heinzmann. He married Charlotte Fern (Duncan) Heinzmann on March 31, 1957 and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2014.
He is survived by his children, Rodney Heinzmann and wife Liz of St. Peter, Chonita Meyer of KS, and Lyndell Heinzmann of Kinmundy; brother, Ron Heinzmann of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Shirley Jones of Salem; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Verlin Heinzmann; and sisters, Willadean Tolka, Annabelle Tolka, Avodel Buchele; and half-sister, Eileen Kretzer.
Dwaine attended Kinmundy Christian Church early in life, after marriage he attended the Woodlawn Church in Iuka. He was a farmer, store manager, and had an auto parts route for many years. He was an avid coin collector, sorting through thousands of rolls looking for wheat pennies. He loved spending time with his family especially his four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Spencer, Cori, and Aubrey, whom he lived with for the last several years.
Funeral services for Dwaine Heinzmann will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Jeremy Hamson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home.
