Rhoda E. Woods, age 76 of Salem, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem. Rhoda was born on June 9, 1944 in Salem, the daughter of Gordon and Alta (Hines) Kemp. She married Elmer Woods Sr. on March 18, 1988 in Salem and he survives in Salem. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Joanna Eddings of Dieterich, Stephanie Niemerg and Phil of Dieterich and Jeff Eddings and Joyce of Hoyleton; step-children, Judy Parsons and husband Lynnwood of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and Elmer Woods Jr. of Salem; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Rhoda was of the Christian faith. She worked as a homemaker and also worked for International Shoe Company in Flora, the Brown Shoe Company in Salem, Bettendorf-Stanford in Salem, and managed Farm Fresh in Salem for five years. She owned Gramp’s and Granny’s Yarns and Crafts and found great joy from that business. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Sandoval City Cemetery in Sandoval at 10:00 am with Phil Niemerg officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family.
